At the Central European Nanopore Days 2026 professional event, MediPark was represented through a research presentation entitled:
"First Evaluation Report of PARADiX – Rapid Diagnostics of Pathogens and their AMR Using Nanopore Sequencing."
The research was presented by Tomáš Strečanský , who presented the first evaluation results of the PARADiX project aimed at rapid diagnosis of infectious pathogens and detection of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

The PARADiX project and its importance
The PARADiX project focuses on the use of nanopore sequencing in clinical diagnostics. Its goals are to:
accelerate pathogen identification,
detect antimicrobial resistance genes,
improve the accuracy and personalization of treatment.
Compared to traditional culture methods, which can take several days, The PARADiX method based on priprietary sample procesoch and Nanopore sequencing allows for a significant reduction in diagnostic time.
Why is rapid diagnosis key?
Antimicrobial resistance is one of the most serious global health challenges. Rapid and accurate diagnostics enable:
to use targeted antibiotic treatment,
limit the overuse of broad-spectrum antibiotics,
reduce the risk of complications,
optimize the length of hospitalization.
Nanopore sequencing technology represents a significant step towards modern, data-driven medicine.
